Judge Ellison

Judge J. T. Ellison, 78, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at a local hospital. He was born October 31, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Thomas Carl Ellison and Emma Irene Friday Ellison. J. T. graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1955, attended Del Mar College from 1955 to 1957, graduating in 1957 and graduated from Texas A&I College in Kingsville in 1959 with a BS in Education. He was employed by Brooks Co. I.S.D. from 1959 to 1962 and Calallen I.S.D. from 1962 to 1982. He was the Nueces County Justice of the Peace Pct. 6, Place 1 from 1983 to 2000. J. T. was a member of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was a very generous man and donated to many charities and organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles Maurice Ellison, a niece, Joan Ellison Bennett and a grand niece, Ashley Iacona. He is survived by his nephew, Jerry Ellison; a grand niece, Kim Calloway and a great nephew, Jerry Ellison, Jr. and a close friend and caretaker, Carlos Vallejo all of Calallen, Texas. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Refugio County, Texas.
