Juan Perez

After a long, brave battle with cancer, Juan Ruben Perez was greeted in heaven by his Savior & his dearly departed loved ones on August 13, 2020. He passed away at his residence in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 69. His devoted family rallied around him in his final days and moments on Earth. Ruben was born in San Benito, Texas, on November 26, 1950 to Espiridion Soto and Maria Guadalupe Perez. He grew up in a large, strict, but very loving family. After an extremely hard-working childhood, he joined Job Corps and then went on to join the Army and proudly served his country. While stationed in Richmond, VA., he met the love of his life at a USO dance. The courtship was brief, but the marriage lasted 52 year. Till death did they part. In the early years, the couple moved from Richmond, Virginia to Sterling, Colorado where they married. Their first daughter Molly Ann was born at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Four years later, they moved to Greensburg, Indiana where Jennifer was born. The couple later moved to Corpus Christi, to raise their daughters close to Ruben’s parents and siblings. Ruben was an active and proud man with a hilariously sarcastic sense of humor and a loud-infectious laugh! He loved his country, working out, fishing, politics, cooking, barbecuing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, keeping up with the weather, studying WWII history, listening to music and having a good time! He was a devoted son and enjoyed visiting with his mother up until her passing in 2018. Ruben was preceded in death by his father, Espiridion and his mother, Maria, his niece; Marissa Renee Livas, his ½ sister Olga and his brother-in-law, Pete Rojas… He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Mary Anne; …his faithful and adoring daughters, Molly Ann Gaulke and Jennifer Breshears; his son’s in law, Jason and Markus; three dearly loved grandchildren, Hayley Sarah Breshears, Christian Markus Gaulke and Hannah Lauren Breshears, five beloved brothers; Jesse Perez and his wife (Velda), Ricardo “Ricky” Perez, Roel Perez and his wife (Lisa), Espiridion Roland “Speedy” Perez and Luis “Louie” Perez and his wife (Luz), his ½ brother Peon and his wife Francis, Five loving sisters; Dalia Martinez and her husband (Pancho), Hilda Perez, Oralia “Lila” Perez, Delma Rojas and Diana Salas and her husband (Gilbert), His Nephews; Jason, Tony, Mario, Sean, Joe, Rene Jr., Joey, Fabian, Andrew, Adrian, Alexander, Sebastian, Maximus and John Perez. His Nieces; Veronica, Lisa, Monica, Priscilla, Annette, Yvette, Megan, Gloria, Shelly, and Michelle. Plus, numerous beloved great & great-great-nieces and nephews. Ruben requested to be buried in the Coastal Bend Veteran’s Cemetery. Services will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
