Juan Martinez Garza

Juan Martinez Garza, 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022. He was born July 21, 1951 on the Ralph Vickers Farm in San Patricio County, Texas to Jose Inez Garza and Enrequeta Martinez Garza. He was a member of Church of Hope and was employed as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Victor and Ernesto Garza and two sons-in-law, Eddie Carrillo and Antonio Medrano.

He is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Diana Martinez Garza; three sons, Joey (Maida) Garza, James Garza, JJ (Stephanie) Garza; two daughters, Dorothy Carrillo and Veronica Medrano; Joey’s children, Andrew and Anthony Garza; James’ children, Mari, Gabi, James, Robert and Michaela Garza; JJ’s children, Marc and Isabella Garza; Dorothy’s child, Ed Carrillo; Veronica’s children, Leslie Benavides, Alexis Cordona and Mike Cordona; great grandchildren, Jasper Garza, Antonio Ramirez, Liliana Martinez, Leonard Martinez, Arabella Cordona and David Garcia; one brother, Hector Garza; four sisters, Mage Ramos, Beatrice Hinojosa Virginia Ruiz and Teresa Garza.

Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. with the Rosary, lead by Deacon Larry Rodriguez, to be recited at 6 P.M. Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2022 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rod Young officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be his three sons, Joey, James and JJ Garza, grandsons, Andrew Garza and Anthony Garza and Mark Martinez.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, James Garza, Marc Garza, Eddie Carrillo and Mike Cardona.
