Josephine Raska, age 92, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away June 7, 2011. She was born March 31, 1919 in Monthalia, Texas to Henry and Adelia Nesloney. She resided in the Leona Schroeder Community for 83 years and the last 9 years in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas and St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. She started the Silver Bells, an organization that made different articles for Hospice programs and was active in home demonstration clubs of many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Otto Raska, son, Franklin Raska, son-in-law, Ted Charba, brothers, Raymond Nesloney and Milford Nesloney. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Frances Raska; daughter, Mary Ann (Leon) Charba; son, Harvey (Jody) Raska; sister, Madeline Rokohl; grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Raska, Janet Raska, Leslie (Wes) Wittner, Jeff (Rosie) Raska, Karen Burkhardt, Kim Charba, Randy (Michelle) Charba, Jan Raska, Kevin (Nicole) Raska, twenty great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell celebrant. Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park.
