Joseph Wallace Iii

Joseph Robert “Papa” Wallace, III, 73, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was born June 16, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Joseph Robert Wallace, II and Josephine Taylor Wallace. Joe earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from A&I University in Kingsville, Texas, was a longtime member and a Deacon for the past ten years at Arlington Heights Church of Christ, loved nature and was an avid hunter. Joe was a stockholder, was instrumental in starting and a longtime employee of J. M. Davidson, Inc. He loved the Lord, his wife and family, his church family and was a loyal employee. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Becky Poor. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Rhonda Wallace Berry, Jim Bob Wallace, and Sheli (Mike) Crauthers; his grandchildren, the lights of his life, Kristen, Kayli, Lindsey, Dakota, McKayla, Wesley and Hayden; his sister, Pat (Norman) Brock; a special cousin, Randy Bass; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family present will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Lewis Cowan and David Syrgley officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Hunt Japonica Cemetery in Hunt, Texas.
