Joseph Lightfoot

Joseph Edwin Lightfoot, age 81, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away November 17, 2013. He was born in Adrian, Michigan January 24, 1932 to Clarence and Margaret Lightfoot. Joseph graduated High School in 1950 in Onsted, Michigan and retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service to his country. He was inducted to the Corpus Christi Bowler’s Hall of Fame in 1984. He bowled from 1960 until the time of his death. Joseph carried a 200 or above average. He had eleven perfect 300 games and many 700 and 800 game series awards and bowled in the National Bowling Tournament for over twenty-six years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Joseph Edwin Lightfoot II and Richard Allen Pinegar. Joseph is survived by his wife, Louise Spruce Lightfoot; children, Monty L. Lightfoot, Dennis J. (Shirley) Lightfoot, Donna (Doyle) Pinegar Hancock; sisters, Mary Webster, Mona Harmon, Judy Case; brothers, Paul Lightfoot, George Lightfoot, Jerry Lightfoot; grandchildren, April Lightfoot, Joseph E. Lightfoot III, Mary Lightfoot, Heather Harry, Ashley Rivera, William Lightfoot; five great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nat Simmons officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
