Jose Hernandez

Jose P. Hernandez, age 86, of Robstown, Texas left this earth on April 11, 2014. He was born in Pearsall, Texas on April 23, 1927. Jose served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of WWII. He retired from Asarco. Jose’s life revolved around his home and his property that he worked tirelessly to make the place it is today. His “Twin Lakes”. His parents Manuel and Adela Hernandez; two sons, Joe Hernandez, Jr., Rudy Hernandez and his eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Amelia Hernandez; his children, Angela (Jewel) Woods, Cruz (Diane) Hernandez, Rey Perez; many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many thanks go out to the staff at Angel Bright Hospice for their wonderful care. The visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Bill Marquis as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery
