John Henry Williams

John Henry Williams, "Judge" 89, of Bluntzer, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 4, 2024.

John was born in Driscoll Texas on September 25, 1934 to Sherman and Sallie Dickens Williams.

John was a retired Justice of the Peace of Nueces County. He worked effortlessly as President for the Justices of the Peace Association and chairing their Legislative Committee for many years to promote laws that positively affected the courts and communities served by the Justice Courts. John Henry was known as the "Hanging Judge of 624". He was a Fireman for the City of Corpus Christi and one of many firemen who helped form Bluntzer Volunteer Fire Department now known as Nueces County ESD 4. John faithfully served the needs of Banquete United Methodist Church and congregation until its closure. He and Shirley then gave the same commitments to First Evangelical Lutheran Church loving their pastoral team and friends there. In retirement he was a cattle rancher. They spent many years raising, loving and naming the cattle. He and Shirley were super proud of their herd. He enjoyed playing dominoes with family and friends. He was loved and will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Milton "Mickey" Williams, James Roberts, and sisters Bobbie Williams Wright and Barbara "Babs" Williams Wright and Stella Mae Kilpatrick.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60+ years Shirley Mueller Williams whom he loved with all his heart. His children daughters Elaine (Darrell) Lee, Elise (Bill) Carter, Kathy (Sherman) Wright and his son John Scott Williams. His grandchildren Denise (Junior) Goetzel, Christine (Dave) Chapman, Amanda (Brad) Lankford, Elisha (Brian) Kehner, Thorin Wright, and Blair (Chris) Fincher, Sumer, Aaron, Rebecca and Sara Williams. 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearer's, are Albert Kessler, Will Clark, Ryan Chapman, Dave Chapman, Jon Herrmann and Junior Goetzel.
