John Theodore Fleming

John Theodore Fleming, born on May 5, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025. He was a beloved father, brother, and treasured grandfather who touched the lives of many throughout his years.

John dedicated a significant part of his life to his career at Five Star Roofing, where he was known for his hard work and commitment to excellence. His legacy in the roofing industry will remain with all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Outside of his professional life, John embraced the simple pleasures that brought him joy. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water, enjoying the tranquility of nature. Taking cruises was another passion of his, as he enjoyed traveling and creating beautiful memories with family and friends.  He loved attending live sports events including the Islanders, arena football, Houston Texans, and Houston Astros. He enjoyed sports so much, he even began collecting sports memorabilia and rare collectibles. He went out to eat breakfast every morning with friends or family and would stay until lunch. He also enjoyed all-you-can-eat buffets (the more run-down, the better) and supporting local businesses. He provided food and shelter to people in need and some became like family and even worked for him at times. 

John is survived by his loving children: Alyssa, Scott, Joshua, Kristen, Jackie, and Brittany. He also leaves behind a cherished family of 18 grandchildren who adored him. His sister, Sandy, holds a special place in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was predeceased by his father, Ralph, and his mother, Carmen, as well as his brother, Kendall. Their memories remain a source of comfort to the family as they celebrate John's life.

A funeral service will be held on January 30, 2025, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas, starting at 11:30 AM. Following the service, a graveside service will be conducted at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

John Theodore Fleming will be remembered for his kindness, strong family values, and the joy he found in both work and leisure. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
