John Chipy

John Chipy, 60, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 in a Houston, Texas hospital after a long illness. John was born February 26, 1951 in Saint Pee Sur Nivelle, France and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Veronica Chipy, and his father-in-law, Bill Upton. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Chipy of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughters, Annette (Edward) Bronnenberg of Cibolo, Texas and Julee (B.J.) Pitre of Spring, Texas; his son, John Michael (Rhonda) Chipy of San Antonio, Texas; was blessed by his grandchildren, Caleb and Kacey Bronnenberg, Brianna and Devin Chipy and Connor and Alyson Pitre; his brother, Michael Chipy and his sister, Marie Dupurou both of Saint Pee Sur Nivelle, France; his mother-in-law, Marian Upton of George West, Texas; his co-workers and many friends. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stephen Wood officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at a later date.
