Joe Rodenberg

Joe Darrell Rodenberg passed away after a sudden illness at University Medical Center Hospital in San Antonio on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the age of 63.

Joe is survived and lovingly remembered by parents Duane and Joan Rodenberg; sister Donna Carol Rodenberg; Uncle Bill Seabourne(Marsha); Uncle Darrell Ray Bailey; Aunt Margaret Rodenberg; the mother of his children, Donna Ann Rodenberg; son Christopher Darrell Rodenberg (Ying); daughter Sarah Loren Durham (Jared); and granddaughters Garnet Joan Rodenberg and Olivia Lane Durham.

Joe was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on October 16, 1957. He graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1976 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Corpus Christi State University. He faithfully served and enjoyed working at Fancher and Company for over two decades.
Joe was a devoted son and visited his dad regularly for a haircut at Annaville’s landmark Westwood Barber Shop.
An avid sports fan, Joe’s pastimes centered around supporting his favorite teams: the Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs and the Corpus Christi Ice Rays, for whom he kept score many years. He also supported the Tuloso-Midway Warriors and Cherokees, as his son and daughter grew up playing for their shared alumni.
From canoeing the Guadalupe to tubing the Frio and listening to good music, Joe loved the outdoors and being around friends and family. In the last two years of Joe’s life, nothing brought more joy than regular visits with his two granddaughters, and he was excited to welcome a third granddaughter to the family in the coming months.

The memorial service will be held at Annaville Baptist Church, 4025 Violet Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78410 on April 24th, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Robert Simmons officiating.
