Joan Bennett passed away January 17, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born in Robstown, Texas on September 20, 1951 to her late father, Maurice Ellison and her mother, Wyona (Ellison) Woolsey. Joan was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Ellison and her beloved granddaughter Ashley Iacono. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Bennett; parents, Wyona and Bob Woolsey; brother, Jerry (Sherrie) Ellison, Sr.; daughter, Kim Callaway. She also leaves behind Wayne's children, Craig (Sarah) Bennett of Santa Barbara, California, Elizabeth Bennett (Zach) Hawver of Austin, Texas. Joan is also survived by her nephew, Jerry Ellison, Jr.; grandchildren, Jenna and Ryan Burkhart and her uncle J.T. Ellison and many good friends. Joan was employed as a Para Legal for Attorney Les Cassidy, Les Cassidy Law Firm, PLLC for over twenty years. Her special enjoyments beside family were photography and motorcycle riding with her husband. Joan founded ScooterShots.com, a photography Company specializing in action sports events. Joan gave many hours of her time photographing events for non-profit organizations such as Cystic Fibrosis, The Make a Wish Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House. Joan (aka Scooter Shots) was a regular contributor covering events for three national magazines and in 2005 Scooter Shots received an International Award for photography. A memorial service will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church, 900 Shoreline Blvd. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to Cystic Fibrosis, Make a Wish Foundation or the First United Methodist Church.
