Jerry Mikail Whiteaker, age 75, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away March 6, 2016. He was born January 31, 1941 in Midland, Texas to Claude and Ruby Williams Whiteaker. Mr. Whiteaker enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of seventeen and served for six years. He was a Master Electrician and retired from Valero Refinery. He loved fishing, car racing, football and anything sports related. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his children and grandchildren and never met a stranger. He loved to talk and brag about his children and grandkids to everyone. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Franklin Whiteaker, his mother, Ruby Maye Whiteaker and his siblings, Wanda Chambers, Robert Whiteaker, Franklin Whiteaker, Audry O’Neil and Dennis Whiteaker. Jerry is survived by his four children, Frank (Carol) Whiteaker of Austin, Texas, Ruby (Jerry) Maikoetter, Steven (Sheri) Whiteaker and Lisa (Ben) Adickes all of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and his two dogs, Dottie and Susie that he adored and loved dearly. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. From 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M there will be a Family and Friends Memory Lane in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at 12 noon in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Jerry’s favorite charities the Gulf Coast Humane Society and DARS, Division of the Blind. The family would like to send our sincere appreciation for the care providers who showed him the love and support for the past 3 years.
