Jeanne “Tutu” Barlow Cardwell, 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014. She was born May 18, 1927 on the Simons and Perry Ranch. She was a farmer and bookkeeper for four Ford dealers and one Chevrolet dealer in Robstown, Texas and also for King and Son Grain Elevator in Robstown. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Driscoll, Texas, a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Robstown, Texas, a member of Calallen Baptist Church and at the time of her death a member of River Hills Baptist Church. She volunteered with her church, the Salvation Army and the Northwest Senior Citizens Center, enjoyed playing Bridge, was an avid sports fan, especially the San Antonio Spurs, and traveled extensively. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Alexander and Ora Lorraine Brown Barlow, her brother, Ray Barlow, her husband, Lonnie Cardwell and her daughter, Gail Cardwell Shanahan. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Wauson of Corpus Christi, Texas; her son, Larry (Joan) Cardwell of Sonoma, California; her grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Cardwell, Shawn (Liz) Cardwell, and Larry (Elizabeth) Cardwell, Jr.,Justin (Jessica) Rogers, Shem (Paul) Rubke, Cory (Angela) Wauson, Chase (Tiffany) Wauson and Chad (Breanne) Wauson; her great grandchildren, Kendall, Bryan, Brooklyn, Parker, Codey, Jacob and Emily; her sister, Janette Barlow of Wimberley, Texas. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown, Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make contributions to your favorite charity. The family would especially like to thank Lillian Moreno, Domingo Campos, Jeanette Salazar and Jina Garcia with Mir Senior Care for their special care and love extended to Jeanne during her illness.
