Jeanine King

February 9, 1938 — October 7, 2020

Corpus Christi

Alta “Jeanine” King, 82 of Robstown, TX got her angel wings on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 at her home.  Jeanine was born on February 9th, 1938 at Palacios, TX, daughter of James Lloyd Payne and Bonnie Newlin Payne.

Jeanine married the love of her life, her soul-mate Emmet Foy King “EF” in 1954 and together they produced four sons, Emmet Foy King Jr, (TC), William ‘Bubba” Harold King, Grady Glen “GG” King (Sherry), John Wesley King, and finally a daughter Crystal Jeanine King (Lynda).  She also took into her heart, and loved as her own, John and Dollie Hardy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruthelle Chaka, nephew Marvin Joe Chaka and grandson Jody Lloyd King.

Jeanine was a full-time homemaker to EF and their brood of five, and in later years became “Mimaw” to a large troop of grandchildren, Floyd, Leslie, Sarah, Levi, Lena, Emily, Grady Jr, Jody, JW, Cesley, Chelsea and Chase.  She has many nieces, nephews and has 27 great-grandchildren and all their photos adorn the walls of her home!  She loved all her family and was equally loved by them all in return!

In recent years Jeanine became very fond of the local cats around their home, and it was her passion to feed and care for them, they took two into their home, Whiskey and Pretty Boy, and doted on these two.  So in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeanine’s memory to The Cattery Cat Shelter of Corpus Christi. http://www.thecatterycc.org/donate.html or The American Cancer Society.

Funeral services for Jeanine will be held at 2 pm on Monday, October 12th, 2020 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12496 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, 78410,  sawyergeorgefuneralhome.com
