Jean Jauer, 84, of Beeville, Texas, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016. She was born March 15, 1932 in Luray, Virginia to Amos Benton and Nellie Evelyn Painter Shenk. Jean was retired from Riverside Hospital after 13 years of service. She had 1000 hours of volunteer service as a member of the Riverside Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Monroe O. Jauer, Jr., after 60 years of marriage and twelve brothers and sisters. She is survived by three sons, Monroe (Mary) Jauer of Corpus Christi, Texas, Larry (Karen) Jauer and Randy (Cindy) Jauer all of Kountze, Texas and one daughter, Vickie (Rick) Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, Joe (Elaine) Shenk of Luray, Virginia; two sisters, Shirley (Herb) Blosser of New Market, Virginia and Maxine (Gene) Sullivan of Elton, Virginia; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, April 18, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Monroe Jauer, Larry Jauer, Randy Jauer, Rick Wilson, Brian Wilson and Gregg Wilson. Honorary pallbearer will be Eddie Shenk.
