It is with great sadness that the family of Jasper Edward Atkinson announces his passing after a battle with cancer on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the age of seventy two. Jasper served in the U.S. Navy at the age of seventeen and was a dedicated employee of Valero Refinery for forty six years. Jasper was a long time season ticket holder for Calallen Wildcat football games and rarely, if ever, missed a game. There was never a dull moment with him. He could light up a room and bring you to tears with laughter. He was a kind, caring and generous man. Jasper will be forever known for his passion of his family, friends, his ranch and Calallen Wildcat football. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ida Atkinson, his father, Hoy Atkinson, along with his sister, Natalie Esterak. Jasper will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty years, Linda Atkinson; his children, Chamarie and husband Mark, DeWayne and wife Heather, Natasha, Darren and wife Whitney along with his eleven grandchildren, Ashlynn, Tyler, Lexie, Blayne, Katylin, Jack, Shailynn, Charles, Beau, Hunter, Luke and his only great grandchild, Zachariasz. He is also survived by his brothers, Fred and wife Sharon, Donald and wife Doreen, James and wife Virginia, along with countless cousins, family and friends.
