Janet Burkhardt

Janet Marie Mainka Burkhardt, devoted wife and loving mother, 68, of Leakey, Texas, a former resident of Violet, Texas, passed away September 11, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Austin, Texas. She was born October 9, 1948 in Cuero, Texas to Conrad and Maggie Bell Mainka. She graduated from W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was a farmer and homemaker in the community of Violet, Texas for over 40 years. She was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet. She is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, James Burkhardt of Leakey, Texas; her son, Jeff Burkhardt, daughter-in-law, Kim Burkhardt and grandchildren, Justin and Tyler Burkhardt of Allen, Texas; daughters, Amanda Burkhardt of Austin, Texas and Briana Burkhardt of Dallas, Texas; her brother, Anthony Mainka and sister-in-law, Marilyn Mainka of Mathis, Texas. Memorial services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.
