James Sims

James Arthur Sims, USN Navy Retired, longtime resident of Sandia, Texas died on February 12, 2016 of health complications. He was born September 18, 1945 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Maudie Mae Workman and Gilford Dudley Sims. James was the oldest of four brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jacob G. Sims. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda M. Sims; two children, Dannielle M. Beck (James) and James K. Sims; four grandchildren, James D. Beck, Tyler J. Beck, Keely A. Beck and Skyler R. Sims; brother, John L. Sims (Rose); Joseph I. Sims (Debbie). Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside Services with full military honors will be conducted at 2:00 P.M Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
