Jacqulene Spurlock Hefte of Robstown, Texas, passed away April 1, 2011. She was born September 10, 1929 in San Saba, Texas to Jack and Jessie Spurlock. Jacque graduated from Texas Tech University in 1952 with a B.S. in Education. She and Bennett moved to Robstown following graduation and have resided there the remainder of their lives. She was active in community Cancer Association fundraising and was a member and past president of the Robstown Garden Club. She and Bennett owned and raced thoroughbred horses for 35 years and were members of the New Mexico Horseman's Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jessie Spurlock, her beloved husband, Bennett Hefte and a sister-in-law, Wanda Spurlock. She is survived by her brother, Bill Spurlock of San Antonio, Texas; nieces, Deborah (Lewis) Radicke, Kathryn (Mark) Yahn, Marsha Spurlock, Brenda (Bob) Sandefur, Katheryn (Scott) Perry; nephews, Stephen Spurlock, Gary (Linda) Garrett, David (Cynthia) Garrett and Kenneth Tom (Lauri) Hefte. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Monday, April 4, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Robstown Memorial Park. Interment will follow.
