Jack Deer

Jack Adams Deer, age 85 of Robstown, Texas passed away suddenly at his home on November 12, 2012. He was born October 26, 1927 in Beeville, Texas to Elmer C. Deer and Mignon Adams Deer. He married the love of his life, Marilee Calhoun on August 11, 1952. Jack was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Independence Masonic Lodge and Al Amin Shrine Temple. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a long time member of River Hills Country Club. Jack retired from Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Co. in 1985 and then was an Offshore Construction Accountant until 1989. Jack is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Marilee Deer of Robstown, Texas; sons, David (Cheryl) Deer of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jeffrey (Kay) Deer of Robstown, Texas, Steven (Patsy) Deer of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Betty (Harry) Grim of Portland, Texas; brother Larry Deer of Corpus Christi, Texas; Jack enjoyed his grandchildren, Angela (Lucas) Spinhirne, Wesley (Shelley) Deer, Steven (Jenn) Deer and his seven great grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. Jack loved his family very much. He had a heart of gold and showered his friends and family with his love and many gifts. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville, Texas with Rev. Bubba Stahl officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Al Amin Shrine Temple, 2001 Suntide Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78409 or Grace United Methodist Church, 14521 Northwest Blvd, Corpus Christ, TX 78410.
