Hope Tyler

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mrs. Hope Mayse Tyler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully at home on April 17th, 2023, with family by her side.

She grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School.

She loved thunderstorms, enjoyed riding horses, camping, fishing, and being immersed in nature. She recently befriended a few squirrels and enjoyed their company. She also loved older game shows and could probably win every episode of Wheel of Fortune or Classic Concentration because she had seen them all.

She was carefree, loving and kind. She loved to spend time with her friends and family, having fun laughing and making memories. Her favorite color was purple and she once had the NC Tarheel tattooed on the bottom of her foot.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Delbert Mayse; her infant daughter, Joy Martin; and her sister, Devra Mayse.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Kenneth Tyler; her daughters, Faith Downey and Lisa Martin; granddaughter, BrieAnna Downey and great grandson, Zachary Camp.

She will be greatly missed by all her loved ones. In honor of her wishes she will not be having a memorial service.
