Odem, Texas Hermina "Mina" Calvert, 96, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born August 26, 1916 in Runge, Texas to Otto Henry and Amelia Berger. She was a graduate of Runge High School, was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Odem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Morgan Calvert, her daughter, Lois Laverne Calvert Gillespie and a grandson, Dennis Dewayne Gillespie. She is survived by her daughter, Gaynelle Calvert (Dennis Ray) Poff of Denton, Texas; her grandchildren, Deborah Rawalt (John) Webb of Odem, Texas, Rebecca (Andy) Hurley of Bowling Green Kentucky, Melissa (Rick) Schrock of Oak Grove, Missouri, Clint (Laura) Poff of Cypress, Texas, Mark (Kim) Gillespie of Sinton, Texas, Brian (Ana) Poff of Lantana, Texas and Allison Lascano of Corpus Christi, Texas; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; two sisters, Irene Thompson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ethel Mae Bullard of Elizabethton, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 5:30 P.M. until 7 P.M. Monday, January 7, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Odem, Texas with Brother Willis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis, Texas. Those who wish may make contributions to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Odem, Texas in memory of Mina Calvert.
