Herman Lowman

Herman Bruce Lowman, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 17th, in his home of 60 years surrounded by family. He was born on February 25, 1932 and had five siblings, Nadine, Lois, Molly, Talmage "Joe" Calvin, and Bernie, his twin brother, by his parents, Herman Wyse Lowman and Arty Alma Hunt. Bruce grew up on his family homestead on the corner FM 1889 and 624. He went to school at Calallen High School where he met his bride Cora Sue Gray. The two dated for 3 years and 20 days before they were finally wed. Lowman worked for his family's land clearing business before starting up his own, Lowman Land Clearing. If you were to ask his wife or any of his family members when he retired, they would all laugh and ask, "Did he?" Bruce and Cora had four children, Mike, Linda, Travis, and Jolyn, eleven grandchildren, Brad, Sharee, Brandee, Amy, Forrest, Trey, Wade, Shane, Brian, Brandon, Taylor and Halen, and thirteen great-grandchildren, Fallon, Ty, Lane, Hailee, Braedon, BK, Bryson, Brantlee, Caden, Evan, Jaimee, Braden, and Madelynn. Bruce was preceded in death by his siblings, Nadine, Molly, Bernie, and Talmage "Joe" Calvin. A viewing will take place on Monday, October 23rd from 6 to 8 PM at Sawyer George Funeral Home in Calallen, and a funeral service will held in the same location on the following day, the 24th, at 1 PM. The burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery on FM 1889.
