HERBERT ALLEN REED, of Calallen, Texas, passed from life through death and into eternity on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the age of 69. He is now absent from the body and face to face with the Lord Jesus Christ. H.A. was born on December 7, 1949 in Corpus Christi, TX, to John Allen and Jackie Marie Reed. H.A. is survived by his sister, Connie Marie Finke; his son, Kyle Reed and wife Kari; his daughter, Shanen Dawn Hajdik and husband Marcus; and grandchildren, Olivia Reed, Piper Reed, and Ethan Hajdik. H.A. graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1969. Soon following H.A. joined the Army Reserves in Ft. Leonard Wood where he was a notable Track athlete. Over the years H.A. worked in several positions within the Calallen and Corpus Christi areas. He was most notably known for his custom home building expertise. His success began when he built his first custom home in 1980 which led him to his own business, Reed Construction, which focused on custom built homes including residential developments. In recent years H.A. became a member and part of the family of the Reguladores, a motorcycle club, where he built a close family providing him with support and friendships. H.A. has been described as a selfless man prepared at any moment to do for others and demonstrated at all times that he cared for everyone without discrimination. He made his transfer from time to eternity in God’s provision of dying grace and with the firm understanding that “for me, living is Christ, dying is profit” (Philippians 1:21). A visitation and gathering will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00 pm in Calallen, TX.
