H. Jon LeMaire

Henry “Jon“ LeMaire passed away November 4, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born August 10, 1944 to Alphonse John LeMaire Jr. and Aloysia Mae Robeau in Houston Texas.

Jon graduated from Corpus Christi College Academy in 1962 and attended Del Mar College where he studied Restaurant Management before being drafted into the U.S. Army. After serving for 3 years, he returned to Corpus Christi and started working for Shep's Chicken Shack until moving to Charlotte, NC in 1988.

Jon was a kind and sincere man, hardworking and easy going, and enviably, comfortable in his own skin, and a comfort to be around. He was a dedicated husband and father who loved his family, the food business and anything to do with history and/or sports. He was a simple man who valued reading the morning paper no matter what town we happened to wake up in. He loved his golf dates with his buddies as much as he loved watching golf from his EZ chair. Add Boston Celtics games, John Wayne movies and old war movies and you’d never get him out of that chair. Jon left a lasting impact on his family and the insurmountable number of people who crossed his path.

In Charlotte, many knew Jon from his days managing Lola’s Café. He always brought a smile to those around him and when catering, he’d make special deliveries to drop off your favorite cookie on your desk, or just stop by to catch up.

Jon was preceded in death by his sister Aloysia Mae LeMaire on October 26, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Berta of Charlotte, NC; sons, Henry Jon LeMaire Jr. (Teri) of Corpus Christi; Robert Maxwell LeMaire of Denver, Colorado; Lt. Col. Alphonse John LeMaire III (Rebeca) of Fort Cavazos, TX; two sisters, his twin sister Mary Jonelle LeMaire of Sinton, and Mary E. LeMaire of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Kellen Mahone, Lindsey and Leah LeMaire, Jessica Thompson, A.J. and Gabriella LeMaire.

A Rosary will be recited at 10:30am, and the Funeral Mass will begin at 11am on Friday, November 17, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Alameda St., Corpus Christi, TX. Graveside services will be conducted at 1pm on November 20, 2023 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, TX.
