Harold Lafferty

Harold “Blu” Lafferty Mathis, Texas Harold Grange Lafferty I., known to many as “Blu”, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 87. He was born on November 9, 1925 in Richland Springs, Texas to James and Olah Lafferty. Harold was retired from Brazelton Construction and Champlin Petroleum Company as a refinery maintenance supervisor. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Merchant Marines. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan Lafferty. Harold is survived by three daughters, Susan Johannesen, Sharon (Gary) Byrum, Sharleen Wright; two sons, Richard (Susan) Verret and Harold Lafferty II; two stepdaughters, Sharon (Jamie) Lipman and Susan (Denny) Eubanks, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His ready smile and humor along with his generous spirit and diligence will be remembered and missed greatly. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.
