Harley Anton Riebschleager

September 12, 1937 — September 13, 2024

Robstown

Harley Anton Riebschleager, born on September 12, 1937, in Edroy, Texas, embarked on his final journey on September 13, 2024. He was a man of steadfast dedication, unfaltering hard work, and unwavering love for his family.

In the early years of his life, Harley owned a salvage yard named Central Auto Parts, laying the foundation for a career marked by industriousness and commitment. After about 12 years, he sold the business and transitioned to the oilfield and refinery construction and maintenance industry. For over 25 years, he made significant contributions to Brown & Root in maintenance at the DuPont-Ingleside plant. Before retiring in 2009, he brought his expertise to the toolroom for Shaw at the Oxy-Ingleside plant. Harley’s career was not just a means of sustenance but a reflection of his diligent spirit and dedication to providing for those he cherished.

Harley and his beloved wife, Nina, shared a beautiful marriage that lasted for 63 years, filled with love and companionship until her passing in 2022. As a devoted husband and father, he poured his heart into nurturing their three children, fostering an environment rich with love and guidance. With an open heart, he also welcomed his nephew, Billy Thomas, into their home, weaving him into the fabric of their close-knit family.

He was not only a father but a cherished “Paw” to his grandchildren: Nicole Eller (Don), Bullet Riebschleager (Kendra), Katherine Ragan, Brenna Greenall, and Hannah Greenall, and a proud great-grandfather to Landon, Lia Eller, Bethany, Anabel, Rebecca, Solon Riebschleager, and Elaina Perez. Harley relished the role of educator, mentor, and confidant, demonstrating a depth of love and warmth that will be fondly remembered by all his descendants.

In his leisure time, Harley reveled in the joys of family activities. An avid fisherman and hunter, he found peace in the outdoors, often disappearing into nature with those he loved. He had a zest for life, whether watching the Astros and Rangers games or cheering on his favorite Nascar and motorcross racers. Each passion was enhanced by sharing it with his family, as he believed that these moments were what life was truly about.

Harley was a proud member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, finding solace and fellowship within its community. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through the joys and trials he encountered along the way.

Left to mourn his loss are his beloved children: Weldon Riebschleager (Valerie), Cathy Greenall (Harry), and Karen Ragan, as well as his brother Delton F. Riebschlager. The memories of his laughter, wisdom, and love will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Nina Riebschleager, his parents John and Emma Riebschlager, a sister, Doris Books, and brothers Roy and Clarence Riebschlager.

The family invites you to honor Harley’s memory and legacy at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas. Visitation will take place on September 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by additional services commencing at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Apostle Catholic Church (St. Thomas) on September 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM, immediately followed by interment at Sinton Cemetery.
