Glynn Edward Schanen, treasured husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at Grace House of Bee Cave August, 5, 2017 at the age of 74. Glynn's gentle and warm nature was cherished by his family and friends. Glynn was born August 26th, 1942 and grew up on a family farm in Robstown, Texas. He graduated from Robstown High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart Linda McBurnett in September, 1964. He obtained his Pharmacy degree from The University of Houston in 1965. Linda and Glynn settled in the city of Robstown and lived there 43 years. Glynn went on to work and eventually own the City Drug Store for nearly 20 years. During that time, he was active in farming, Toastmasters International, The Boys and Girls Club, and served as President of the Robstown Chamber of Commerce in 1979. Linda and Glynn retired and moved to Wimberley, Texas in 2009. There they made many new friends and became active members of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Glynn's passions included nature conservation and land management. Time spent with his grandchildren was particularly sweet. The grandkids have many fond memories of the fun had at Oma and Opa's house. He is survived by his daughter, Amy and her husband Steve Thomas of Fredericksburg, Texas and Dr. Dean Schanen and his wife Amber of Bee Cave, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Aaron Thomas, Kathryn Schanen, and Libby Schanen. His brother, Bob and his wife Sandy Schanen, also survive him. The family would like to thank the many members of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Grace House, and the many others who supported Glynn and his family through prayer, love, and kindness. A funeral service will be conducted at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, 78410 at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Glynn has asked donations be made to the charity of your choice.
