Glynn W. Barber, 95 of Robstown, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his home. He was born October 27, 1921 in Stockdale, Texas to Jarrett Arles Barber and Letha Teague Barber. Mr. Barber was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII, and was the former owner of Barber Olds, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Inc. in Robstown, Texas. He was a member of River Hills Baptist Church, the Rotary Club, the Masonic Lodge and was a life member of the American Paint Quarter Horse Association. He raised paint horses for 45 years and was an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Carmen Lee Barber. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Connie Barber; his son, Glynn W. “Chuck” Barber and his wife Judy; two grandchildren, Jarrett Lee Barber and Jennie Lynn Barber; his step-children, Frank (Carol) Whiteaker, Ruby (Jerry) Maikoetter, Steve (Sherry) Whiteaker and Lisa (Ben) Adickes; his step-grandchildren, Tiffany Taylor, Kyle Ross,Vanessa Maikoetter, Jerry (Ann) Maikoetter, Jr., Steve (Carolyn) Whiteaker, Jr., Stephanie Whiteaker, Shelby Whiteaker, Shanna Whiteaker, Ashley Adickes and Amber Adickes; four step-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 9 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at River Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Jody Simmons officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, July 17, 2017 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glynn W. “Chuck” Barber, Jarrett Lee Barber, Joe Havelka, Jerry Maikoetter, Jr., Ramiro Rodriguez, Zeke Rodriguez and Steve Whiteaker, Jr.
