Glenn Edward Rachui was welcomed with open arms by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 74 on November 3, 2024. He was born on September 7, 1950, in Waco, Texas, to Arthur and Jeanette Rachui. Glenn was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
He and his parents later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where Glenn graduated from King High School in 1968. After graduation, he began working in the automotive industry, starting a career he would hold for many years. He enjoyed racing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Glenn’s most cherished titles were "Dad", "Pops” & “Racecar Pop Pop”. He had an incredible sense of humor and a presence that could light up any room. Known for his kindness, he would give anything to anyone—even strangers. Glenn loved watching his kids and grandkids excel and attended every event, game, race track, and celebration of their milestones.
He had a passion for racing and enjoyed traveling to different race tracks both locally and across the country. Glenn retired from All American Chevrolet of Killeen after a long and successful career in the automotive industry. He was renowned for his automotive expertise and could build an engine from the ground up. Glenn’s knowledge, wisdom, and insight into all things mechanical were unmatched. He loved his "race family" and could often be found at a dirt track on any given Saturday, enjoying the sport he loved. He was a pillar of the racing community and will be deeply missed.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Rachui, and his mother, Jeanette Rachui.
He is survived by his Sister Connie (Mike) Pelletier of Huntsville Tx, son Curtis (Beth) Watson of Granbury Tx, son Christin "Bobo" (Emily) Rachui of Corpus Christi Tx, son Nathan Rachui (Britni Hicks) of Corpus Christi Tx, daughter Lindsey Rachui of Corpus Christi Tx, son Eric (Staci) Rachui of Orange Grove Tx; and his grandchildren, Willam “Will” (Casey) Watson of Virginia Beach Virginia, James “Jake” (Abigail Jarrett) Watson of Euless Tx , Zachary, Brandon, Jaxon, Maddox and Lennox of Corpus Christi Tx and numerous nephews, cousins & friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Sawyer George Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 1:00 PM. A private family ceremony will be held at Seaside Memorial Park at a later date.
One of Glenn’s greatest wishes was to see his son Eric and daughter-in-law Staci become parents. In honor of this, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rachui Adoption Fund at any Rally Bank branch.
