Gladys Debellas

Gladys DeBellas Certain of Corpus Christi, Texas passed on to heaven at age 87 on Monday July 12, 2021 due to complications of Dementia. Gladys was born in Olustee, Florida on November 18, 1933 to Ruby Caldwell.
She moved to Corpus Christi, Texas at an early age and married Joseph DeBellas. They had two children, Joseph V. DeBellas and Carol DeBellas. She later married Rob Roy Certain and she had step children Bronson Certain, Debbie Rainwater, Robbie Chisam, deceased from that marriage.
Gladys was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years, primarily at St Cyril and Methodious Catholic Church. She was also a secretary there for several years. In her later life she became an entrepreneur owning the Hologram Store and Copy Creators in the Sunrise Mall.
She was quite a character and knew everyone everywhere she went. She especially loved gambling, everything from bingo to poker to slot machines, always knew where the loose machines were. She was an avid dog lover and had several dogs of different breeds that she treated like children. She will glad to reunite with all the loving pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alex Caldwell and her sister, Patty Story and both of her husbands and is survived by her son, Joseph V. DeBellas (Nori); daughter, Carol DeBellas and son, Bronson Certain. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Gross and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Burial at Seaside Cemetery was on July 16, 2021. The services are mainly for family but keeping her in your prayers will be appreciated.
