Violet, Texas Gilbert George Hoelscher, Sr., 77, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 in a Corpus Christi, Texas hospital. He was born January 28, 1933 in Violet, Texas to George William Hoelscher, Sr. and Annie Bernsen Hoelscher. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold, Damian, Leonard and David Hoelscher, his sister, Margie Knight. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Pat Hoelscher of Violet, Texas; his children, Gilbert, Jr. (Brenda) Hoelscher of Spring, Texas; Edward (Gale) Hoelscher of College Station, Texas, Elaine (Gary) Brumley of Orange Grove, Texas, Barbara (Joe) Meredith of Bartlett, Tennessee, Doris (Fiancee, Scott Geary) Hoelscher of San Antonio, Texas, and Gery (Lady) Hoelscher of Robstown, Texas; nine grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Annette O’Brien of Miami, Florida, George (Cam) Hoelscher and Charles (Cecilia) Hoelscher of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joyce (Charles) Denecour of Kingston, Rhode Island, Evelyn (Paul) Fox of Niceville, Florida, Cathryn (Travis) Green of Buda, Texas; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hoelscher of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary Ann Hoelscher of Pharr, Texas, Annette Hoelscher of San Antonio, Texas and Wanda Hoelscher of Raymondville, Texas. The Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Sunday, June 6, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas with viewing beginning at 6 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Monday, June 7, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet with Rev. Msgr. Celestine Murray as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Violet. Viewing will begin at 9 A.M. Monday in St. Anthony Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet or the American Cancer Society.
