Geneva Strmiska

Geneva (Netek) Nemec Strmiska, 97, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home. She was born January 10, 1920 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Leopold and Mary Netek. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank C. Nemec, Sr., Henry F. Strmiska; sons, Frank C. Nemec, Jr. and David M. Nemec; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Frank Burgess; daughter-in-law, Robben Nemec; grandson, David J. Tajchman, Jr.; brothers, Frank Netek, Rudy Netek, Victor Netek, Dominic Netek and Emil Netek; sisters, Lydia Kosarek, Janie Polasek, Helen Morris Smith, Mary Klepac and Frances Hartigan. Geneva is survived by her sister, Christine Black; children, Monica (Tom) Foyt, Susie (David) Tajchman, Helen (Tom ) Brown, Marian (Dan) Tajchman, Gladys (Mike) Eilers, Larry (Susan) Nemec and Patrick Nemec; daughters-in-law, Mariterre Nemec and Gaylynne Nemec; twenty grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and K.J.Z.T. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary Foyt, Eric Tajchman, Christopher Brown, Joshua Nemec, John Tajchman, Aaron Lisenbe, Cory Nemec and Colin Nemec. Special thanks to Geneva’s caregivers, Tensa, Linda and especially to Mary and also, thanks to Legacy Hospice staff and especially Frank. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel . The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 6, 2017 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas with Msgr. Michael Howell as celebrant. Burial will follow at 1:00P.M. at Seaside Memorial Park.
