Gaylene Janelle Hinze of Corpus Christi, age 53, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be conducted Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Robstown with Pastor Ronald C. Bessert officiating. Born on August 5, 1960 in Robstown to Melvin and Dolores (Eggert) Hinze, Gaylene will forever be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strength and determination, and her loving nature. Her passions included cooking, vacationing with her family, and spending time with her cats. Education was of paramount importance to Gaylene, and she was in constant pursuit of learning. Gaylene was a graduate of Tuloso-Midway High School and Texas Lutheran University, where she earned a BA degree with majors in General Business and Economics. She also earned an Elementary Teaching Certificate from Corpus Christi State University. Gaylene was predeceased by her father. She is survived by her son, Braden Sides, whose love and devotion for his Mom has been unwavering; her mother, Dolores; her sister, Cynthia Hinze and her brother-in-law, Robert Scott. She is also survived by numerous other loving family members and friends. Memorial contributions in Gaylene's honor may be made to Susan G.
