Gary Talley

Gary Morgan Talley, 74, went to heaven to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Robstown, Texas, on October 24, 1939, to the late Ernest Lee Talley (US Army, WWII) and Lowell Talley. Gary graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army 1st Calvary division (Korea). He continued his education at Texas A&I University and received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1970. Gary was an outstanding member of the community and spent his career doing taxes, giving financial advice, and helping many local business owners as a CPA. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and could be found hunting, fishing, watching sports, or talking over dinner. Gary's favorite past time in his last few years was spent gambling with some of his dearest and beloved friends. He will be truly missed by all especially his long time buddy Hatch, dearest friend Shelley, and his family at Bromley Gas Measurement. He is preceded in death by his brother Phillip Talley, wife Sammy Talley, and his pet and companion Foxy. Gary is survived by his son Lee Vaughn Talley (Cherri Lee Talley) of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is also survived by his granddaughter Jade of Corpus Christi, Texas and a brother Larry D. Talley (Air Force Vietnam), of Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014. The funeral will take place at 9:30 a.m. following the visitation, with the burial at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Glen Kost of Tuloso-Midway Baptist Church will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. The family would like to thank Shelley, Richard, Penni, Cindy, Julie, and the BGMI family for all their love and support, you were all a blessing from above.
