Gary Potter Sr.

Gary Leon Potter Sr., 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2015. He was born September 27, 1938 in Glens Falls, New York to Erwin and Alfreta Mae Pratt Potter. Gary was retired from the U. S. Air Force, and had been a manager of ABJ Adjusters. He was an ordained minister and Deacon at Annaville Baptist Church where he worked with the AWANA’s and ministered to underprivileged children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Nannette Potter, his parents and his brothers, Ronnie, Bobby and Bill Potter. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Potter; his sons, Gary (Tara) Potter, Jr., James (Roxanne) Potter, and Brian (Stephanie) Potter; three step-sons, Peter (Lori) Leonbruno, Thomas Leonbruno and Perry (Jaylene) Leonbruno; his brother, Donnie (Susan) Potter; sister, Louise Stohr; 6 grandchildren, Angela (Cody) Speegle, Shelbilyn (Matt) Parker, Gary Potter, III, Taylor Potter, Alec Potter and Madisen Larson; 2 great grandchildren, Cameron Speegle and Lauren Parker; and a host of church family. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Annaville Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions in Gary’s memory to Annaville Baptist Church.
