Gary Lofthouse, Jr.

Gary "Bubba" Lee Lofthouse, Jr. age 44, was called up to Heaven suddenly on September 13, 2014. He was born on January 6, 1970 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Gary loved sports. From the age of 7 he started playing football. He was on numerous Little League teams including his favorite the Dallas Cowboys. Gary was the most dedicated Cowboys fan. You could ask him anything about the Cowboys and he would know from past to present. He also enjoyed playing baseball at Oilbelt Little League. He attended Calallen ISD from 5th grade till graduation. While at Calallen, Gary participated in many extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations from the Pride of Calallen Marching Band to Track and Field, Power Lifting, and to being a proud Calallen Wildcat football player. Gary played Varsity Football from the end of his Freshmen year through his Senior year. He was a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Gary is a graduate of Calallen High School Class of 1988. Upon graduation he attended Texas A&I in Kingsville where he majored in Business/Accounting. He served as the Treasure of the Accounting Club his Sophomore and Junior years in college. Gary graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Accounting from Texas A&I in 1992. Upon graduation, he started working in the Accounting/Controller field. He had the pleasure of working for and with outstanding people in the Beeville area, San Antonio area, and Corpus Christi area. Gary was a loving son, brother, father, cousin, uncle and friend. His family was the most important part of his wonderful life. He never met a stranger for he was truly a people person and enjoyed everyone. He would help anyone at any time even if it meant giving someone his last dollar. Gary is loved by so many and was blessed with family and friends as loving as he was. God has called home an amazing young man. Gary is proceeded in death by his father, Gary Lee Lofthouse, Jr.; Stepfather Robert Joseph Gonsoulin, Jr.; both maternal and fraternal grandparents. Gary is survived by his devoted mother, Merikay Gonsoulin; daughter, Camryn Lofthouse; sons, Zachary and Keaghan Lofthouse; sister, Karrie Lofthouse; brother, Jeff (Notie) Brooks; stepbrothers, Mark (Pauli) Gonsoulin, Danny (Rosemary) Gonsoulin, and Mike Gonsoulin; nephew, Austin Lofthouse; aunt, Pamela Rogers; many other family members and his fiancé, Patsy Reyna. Visitation with the family present will be on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at Sawyer George Funeral Home at 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX 78410. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday September 20, 2014 at 10:30am at Annaville Baptist Church at 4025 Violet Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410 with Pastor Robert Simmons officiating. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery 4607 Farm to Market Road 1889, Robstown, TX 78380. The immediate family would like to extend an invitation to family and friends to join them back at the church following the burial for food and fellowship. Pallbearers will be Austin Lofthouse, Jeff Brooks, Lonnie Fowler, Kight Rogers, David Hoskins, Cade Knudson, Danny Gonsoulin, and Mark Gonsoulin. Honorary pallbearers: Calallen Varsity Football Team Class of 1988.
