Agua Dulce, Texas Garrison Bethea "Bud" Bailey, member of the Agua Dulce Church of Christ, passed away February 15, 2012. He was 90, born November 15, 1921 to Alva G. and Ida Bell Bailey in Elgin, Texas. Bud was a former vocational, agricultural teacher and elementary principal with the Agua Dulce ISD. His family moved to Nueces County in 1928. He was a WW11 veteran of the U S Coast Guard serving in the Pacific Theater for four years. Bud was active in many organizations during his life, and a leader beginning with both the Robstown FFA Chapter and the Texas A & I Aggie Club as president. He later served as a state director of the Voc. Ag Teacher Assn. of Texas. He was president of the Agua Dulce PTA and of the Lions Club. He was especially proud of his record of forty years of perfect attendance at all Agua Dulce Longhorns football games, where he did the play-by-play announcing all of the home games as well as many play-off games elsewhere. After retirement, he continued to travel, both at home and abroad, on cruises and land tours. He enjoyed participating in the Agua Dulce Senior Center as a RSVP Volunteer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Annetta, and his sister, Faye Evans of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his nephew, Robert Evans, his niece, Judy Gray, 5 grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, February 17, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with David Fast officiating. Burial will be private for the family. Pallbearers will be Rudy Corral, Billy Bedford, Joe Lemer, Alan Schuelte, Robert Evans and Raymond Gray. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to Sunny Glen Children's Home; P. O. Box 1373, San Benito, Texas, 78586-9987, or their favorite charity
