God called another A/C Contractor into heaven. Franklin Lee Cox passed away January 22, 2023, He was 80 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Virginia Cox and his brother Donald Cox.
Frank (Pink) is survived by his wife, Darlyn Ann Cox, his children, Cindy Leyland (Dave), Billie Jo Cox (Mercedes Torres), Mechelle Cox, Frank Cox Jr. (Mary Alsworth), Michael Cox (Chelle), and Jeremy Cox. He is also survived by his stepchildren, James Ryland and Heather Ryland, his brothers Jim Cox, Jerry Cox, Kelly Cox (Theresa), and Paul Cox (Joy), and sisters Judy Luna, (Rudy), and Patty Cox. He is also survived by his grandson, Colton Cox and great nephew, Levi Gallup, and numerous nieces and nephews and the many children he and Ann helped to raise.
Franklin was born in Osborne, Missouri October 22, 1942 and was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. Although the family moved to Corpus Christi, Frank did not join them until 1968. For the next several years he worked as a paint contractor, owned a Conoco Station and was active in stock car racing. He eventually moved to Pasadena, Texas and went to work for Whataburger providing their refrigeration service. He left Whataburger and moved back to Corpus Christi and started RESCO Heating and Air Conditioning until his retirement in 2015. After he retired in 2015, he and Ann provided child care for their friends and family. This was a great joy to both Frank and Ann. One of the children started calling him Pink and that's how he got the nickname. They all began calling him Pink. They spoiled and loved many children. He touched many people in his life and loved deeply and he was deeply loved.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 10:00AM and Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
