Frank Roznovsky

Frank Joe Roznovsky was born to Frank and Ludmila (Veselka) Roznovsky, September 19, 1927 in Shiner, Texas. He died peacefully on the morning of May 30, 2012 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Frank enlisted in the United States Army, January 24, 1946, and served in the U. S. Army Engineers. He received his honorable discharge April 23, 1947. After the Army, he went back to school and graduated from the Baldwin Business College in Yoakum, Texas, where he met his bride, Bertha Lenora Brzozowski. They were married January 24, 1950. Together, they had five children. Frank was a Boy Scout Master for several years. Through Scouting he received the Order of the Arrow Award and earned the St. George Award for Scouting. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Alumni, the Coastal Bend Genealogical Society, and the Nueces County Library Board. After retiring from Koch Refinery as a crude unit operator in 1990, Frank found joy in service through the Christus Spohn Hospital Auxiliary where he held offices as treasurer and president while volunteering twelve hours a week in the Nutrition Services Center. His dedication to the Auxiliary earned him the Caller Times/KRIS Six News Jefferson Volunteer Award for community volunteerism and recognition by the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program of Corpus Christi. Frank enjoyed gardening and fishing and felt quite at home in the kitchen. His gingersnap cookies were coveted by friends and family alike. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of complex crossword puzzles. After a battle with macular degeneration, recorded books of the Bible provided much comfort. As a faithful member of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, Frank offered his gift of song to the church choir for over 25 years. In his devotion to the Catholic faith, he was a third degree member of the St. Peter's Knights of Columbus Council 7290, serving as financial secretary in his last nine years of service. He was Past Grand Knight of the St. Theresa's Knights of Columbus Council 4517. Frank is reunited in death with his parents, a son, Stephen Michael Roznovsky, and son-in-law, Frederick Pulley. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 62 years, Bertha Roznovsky; son, Joseph (Cathy) Roznovsky; daughters, Wanda Pulley, Mary Warner, and Angela Roznovsky; grandchildren, Mark (T J) Roznovsky, David (Sara) Roznovsky, Gary (Amy) Roznovsky, Christopher Pulley, Sara Pulley, Danielle (Clint) Tucker, Nicole (Stephen) Vizuete and Robert "Bo" Warner; great-grandchildren, Jo Lorraine Roznovsky, Andrew Roznovsky, Mae Roznovsky, Clara Roznovsky, Luke Roznovsky, Leah Roznovsky, Levi Roznovsky and Jack Tucker; sisters, Lillie Martignoni, Annie Logsdon, Angeline Netardus and Susie Kasper; brothers, Ben Roznovsky and George Roznovsky; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends its gratitude to the 8th Floor Medical Staff of Christus Spohn Shoreline Pavilion and the Hospice Care Team of Trinity Towers for their compassionate care. Visitation will begin at 6 P.M. Friday, June 1, 2012 with the Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Morgan Rowsome as celebrant. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. Pall Bearers: Mark Roznovsky, David Roznovsky, Gary Roznovsky, Christopher Pulley, Robert "Bo" Warner, Clint Tucker and Stephen Vizuete. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 7290 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church.
