Francis M. "Frank" Parker, 84, of Robstown, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 2, 2012. He was born December 31, 1927 in Bishop, Texas to Bonnie Vance and Mattie McClaren Parker. He served in the U.S. Army at Camp Carson and Camp Hale in Colorado from 1947 until 1948, and trained in mountaineering with Co. H, 38th Infantry division. He joined the Texas Army National Guard in 1948 and served until 1968, retiring as a 1st Sergeant. Decorations he received included the Faithful Service Medal, Texas and the Meritorious Service Medal, Texas. Frank worked for Nueces Electric Co-Op, Inc. for over 26 years and for over 23 years as a country western DJ with KROB radio in Robstown. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Charles W. Parker and Bonnie Vance Parker, Jr. and a sister, Jane Pogue. He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Frances Jean Parker of Robstown, Texas; his sons, Richard M. (Robin)Parker of Brookside Village, Texas and Marshall L. Parker of Garland, Texas; his daughter, Diana Parker (Gary) Vineyard of Dallas, Texas and a grandson, Michael Paul (Carrie) Parker of Kingsville, Texas. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Robstown with Rev. Barbara Dyke officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
