Francis Hoelscher

Francis Ervin Hoelscher, age 81, joined his wife and son in their heavenly reward on June 14, 2010. He was born in Violet, Texas on June 5, 1929 to Herbert J. and Regina Hoelscher. He was married for 57 years to his best friend and soul mate, Margaret “Margie” Elizabeth (Sablatura) Hoelscher on April 14, 1952, whom he lost on May 25, 2009. They began their married life together initially in El Paso and then moving on to Seattle, Washington while Francis served his country in the United States Army. They ultimately returned to Corpus Christi to begin their family. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet. Upon retiring from Hoelscher Electric in 1994 he stayed active with his woodworking, his grandchildren’s athletic activities, and loved a good game of dominoes or taroke or just sharing a good cup of coffee with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margie; his son, Randolph Francis Hoelscher; his brothers, Walter, Jerome and William; and his sisters, Leona and Clementine. He is survived by his sons, Bruce (Penny), Keith (Linda), Aaron (Michele), Leslie, and Scott; and his daughters, Jeanne (David) Olney, Sandra Cleveland (Nelson) and Gail (Jimmy) Masur; 27 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard, Raymond and Edgar; and his sisters, Dorothy, Rosa Lee, Floy Lee, Mary Louise and Geraldine. The family would like to thank the doctors, nursing staff and spiritual staff at Spohn Shoreline, especially Father Francis and Father Joseph for their tireless and caring support. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with interment immediately following at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Violet, Texas.
