Frances Valesta Vana Nemec, age 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away December 13, 2013. She was born March 4, 1920, in Moulton, Texas to Adolf and Janie JilekVana. She married Emil Paul Nemec, Sr. on September 1, 1941, in Moulton, Texas. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas, St. Ann Altar Society and the KJZT. Frances was a resident of Mt. Carmel Home. Frances was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a woman of faith whom many would call on for prayer requests which were almost always answered. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil P. Nemec, Sr., her son, Emil P. Nemec, Jr., her parents, brothers and sisters, and her son-in-law, Ron Watts. Frances was the proud matriarch of her family for the last ten years. She is survived by her son, Ronald J. (Barbara) Nemec of Robstown, Texas; daughter, Karen Watts of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter-in-law, Susie Nemec of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Joe) Christina, Becky (Brian) Hammond, Amanda Nemec, Lesli (Ben) Gwynn, Erron Watts, Tia (Michael) Stevens; seven great grandchildren, Catherine and Caitlyn Christina, Colton and Jacob Hammond, Emily and Casey Gwynn and Aiden Stevens; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family present will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Erron Watts, Terry Marshall, Joe Christina, Brian Hammond, Ben Gwynn and Michael Stevens. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care Frances received at Mount Carmel Home. Frances was cared for and nurtured physically, emotionally and spiritually due to the devoted ministry of the Carmelite Sisters. Thank you to the team from Altus Hospice for providing comfort and support to Frances, her caretakers and the family.
