Floyd Miller, better known as Mike, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mike was born October 6, 1937 in LaVale, Maryland, the son of Floyd Miller and Genevieve (Pope) Miller. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Emmitsburg, Maryland and attended Towson State Teachers College in Towson, Maryland. He subsequently joined the U.S. Air Force and served a four year enlistment. He moved to Texas in the sixties and has lived in Corpus Christi ever since. He grew to love his adopted state of Texas and all the wonderful friends whom he acquired over the years. He often said he wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Mike had many passions but the three that were paramount to him were golf, fishing and dancing. He spent many happy hours on the golf course perfecting his game followed by many more memorable hours on the dance floor. Mike was a member of River Hills Country Club. He was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and loved to help people. He was preceded death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Lou Kerrigan and Saranna Beegle. Mike is survived by his brother, John Miller of Hadley, MA.; a sister, Dolores Gillelan of Biglerville, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. At a later date there will be an additional service in the Gettysburg, PA. area for friends and family. Burial will be in Pennsylvania.
