Evelyn Arnold

Evelyn Bierstedt Arnold, age 85, of Orange Grove, Texas passed away May 10, 2016. She was born May 24, 1930 in Orange Grove, Texas to Robert and Nora Bierstedt. Evelyn was a graduate Orange Grove High School where she lettered in volleyball and also played softball. She was baptized in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove. She worked at the Bank of Alice and State National Bank in Robstown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin and a brother, Marvin Bierstedt. Evelyn is survived by her children, Cliff (Tommie Sue) Arnold, Donna Arnold, Bubba (Norma) Arnold; sister, LaFern Griffin; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove, Texas with Pastor Jan Putnam officiating. Burial will follow in the Sons of Hermann Cemetery.
