Eustolia Perez

Eustolia Flores Perez, 100, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away of natural causes on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Trisun River Ridge Center. She was born to Teodoro and Josefina Flores on July 13, 1915, in Beeville, Texas. She was a lifelong homemaker and loving and nurturing caregiver to her own five children and many of her grandchildren. She also was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Reyes P. Perez, daughter, Estelle Sawyer, sisters, Porfiria Vera and Amalia Guzman, brothers, Frank Flores, Joe Flores, and Martin Flores, and great-grandson Dalton Ilseng. She is survived by daughters, Mary Louise Russell (Durrell) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Gloria Schulz (Russ) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Rose Marie Ward (Bill) of Austin, Texas; son, Reyes P. Perez, Jr. (Yolanda) of Corpus Christi, Texas and son-in-law, Jerry Sawyer of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Gerald Gray Sawyer, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Rhonda Ilseng (Jeff) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Durrell Russell, Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dave Russell (Beth) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Marlo Demark (Tom) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jeff (Shari) and Michael Schulz of Wisconsin, Michael Perez and Jon Perez (Contina) of Corpus Christi, Texas, William Ward of Milford, Ohio, Alexander Ward, Richard Ward, and Christopher Ward of Austin, Texas. She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Ashley Moreno (John), Amber Ilseng, Grayson Ilseng, Matthew Russell (Jessica Hilzey), B.J. Russell (Danielle), Andrew Russell (Lauren), Hunter Russell, Tyler Russell, Travis Russell, Haley Russell, Shannon Russell, Millie Long, Sally Long, Aiden Demark, Ricky Lopez, Mike Perez, Matthew Perez, Adriyle Perez, and Ezra Perez. She was great-great-grandmother to Kaiden Moreno, Marguerite Russell, Deagan Russell, and Andrew Russell, Jr. She also leaves behind granddaughter- in-law, Judy Perez, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition, when Reyes, Jr. married Yolanda, her family grew to include 6 more grandchildren and their spouses, 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2016, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home at 12497 Leopard, St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78410. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Trisun River Ridge Care Center and Harbor Hospice for their help in caring for our mother during the last months of her life.
