Eradio Franco

Eradio Villareal Franco, age 81, of Robstown, Texas passed away August 5, 2016. He was born November 29, 1934 in Tynan, Texas to Jose and Enselma Franco. Dad was very proud of being a four year letterman in baseball and football at Mathis High School. One of his first jobs was at HEB bakery after completing 3 years in the Army as a Corporal. He worked 3 years with his father-in-law, Arthur Ramirez who owned and operated Arts Garage in Robstown, Texas, where he learned his trade in mechanics. He also worked at Jennings Chevrolet & D C Rachal in Robstown. On August 20th, 1976 he realized his dream and opened Franco’s Garage where he had a great following for his alignments and transmission work. He semi retired in 2009, but continued helping his son Ronnie who is now the owner of Franco’s Garage. Mr. Franco never met a stranger and never turned anyone down that needed their car repaired or financial help. His family and friends remember his tender heart and unique laugh. He loved traveling , going to Santa Fe, Vegas and fishing. His favorite past time was watching all westerns, football and boxing. He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren who loved him dearly and will be missed! He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Ismael Franco, Israel Franco, his grandson, Dustin H. Knoblauch and the son of his second wife, Hector Perez. He is survived by his wife, Esther Franco of Robstown, Texas; his children, Ronnie R. Franco (Cathy McFatter) of Robstown, Julie and Roland Knoblauch of Wimberly, Texas, Cindy Franco of San Antonio, Texas and mother of his children Ruby Franco of Robstown, Texas; children of Esther, Manuel and Isabel Perez of Belton, Texas, Randy and Ginny Perez of Robstown, Texas, Jo Ann and Tom De Los Santos of Corpus Christi, Angelique Perez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Lorraine Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Idalia F. Garza; grandchildren, Ashley Knoblauch, Paige and Peyton Franco, numerous grandchildren of his wife. Visitation will be on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 3:00 to 9:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Peyton Franco, Roland Knoblauch, Ralph Medina, Joe Coronado, Manuel Perez and Randy Perez.
