Emma Louise Gann of Robstown, TX passed into glory on Saturday, May 16, 2015, in Corpus Christi, TX; the same day she was born 88 years prior (May 16, 1927) in Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter of Ora Dale and Myrtle Azalea Coppersmith of Yakima, Washington. Emma was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Robstown, TX. Mrs. Gann served nearly 25 years in Federal Service in retail management. She retired as the Retail Manager for the Navy Exchange on the Island of Guam, Mariana Islands, U.S. After returning to the mainland, she and her husband "Pappy" Gann owned and operated the Restaurant, Bait and Tackle Shop on the Horace Caldwell Pier in Port Aransas (1971-1975). From 1982-1986 Mrs. Gann lived in Charco, Texas where she and her husband managed and operated the VFW Hall in Runge, TX. In May 1992, they returned to the Corpus Christi area and settled in Robstown, TX. Mrs. Gann was an avid "fisherwoman" who landed many a tarpon and huge sharks while she and her husband spent a number days and nights on Horace Caldwell and Bob Hall piers in the 1950-1960s. She also loved to hunt and was known by hunting buddies as "dead-eye Emma" as she never missed a shot at a deer or hog. Mrs. Gann was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Raymond Joseph Gann, Jr.; a daughter, Lynda Carol Green; an infant son, Billy Jack Gann; and a grandson, Michael Edward Green. Emma is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Roy) Crossland of Robstown, TX; a son, Raymond Gene Gann of Corpus Christi, TX; 5 grandchildren, and 13 great grand children. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2120 FM 1889, Robstown, TX. Visitation for family and close friends will be held that same morning at the church from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at a later date in the Royal Palm Cemetery, Port Aransas, TX.
