Elva "Ma Maw" Collins, 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011. She was born May 26, 1918 to William and Clara Kievel Young. Mrs. Collins was a welder in Washington state during WWII and she and her husband were homebuilders. She was a homemaker and member of Southcrest Baptist Church. Ma Maw was best known for her country cooking and gardening. Her family was her treasure and she loved them dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Collins, her daughter, Shirley Wittliff, her son-in-law, Albert "Buck" Wittliff and a grandson, Bruce Wittliff. She is survived by her daughter, Lena (Buddy) Walker of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister, Edith Bellah of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren, Mark (Lisa) Wittliff of Houston, Texas, Bret (Michele) Walker of Pipe Creek, Texas, Lori Walker of Odem, Texas and Stephanie (Pat) McDaniel of Sinton, Texas; 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and one more expected. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. before the services on Saturday, September 24, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
